Fooducate - eat a bit better
WINNER: First Place - Nutrition/Healthy Eating
Fooducate is a free mobile app (Android, iPhone) that empowers supermarket shoppers to make healthy choices effortlessly. The app enables consumers to automatically scan the barcodes of food products, and instantly see how nutritious they really are – knowledge that is leading to changes in their purchase decisions. Fooducate’s scientific algorithms generate a letter grade (A, B, C, or D) for each product scanned, along with brief explanations and warnings about its nutrients and ingredients. Users are just one click away from viewing similar, but healthier alternatives. The Fooducate app has been downloaded over 1 million times and has been used to scan over 10 million products so far.

Dear winners
We plan to have additional information about each of the Apps and how to access them up on the SG's website later today.
Dr Benjamin, Farzad Mostashari and Todd Park will all be at HIMSS later this week talking about the App Challenge. If you are there, please make a point of introducing yourselves.
We also would like to make sure that, as Dr Benjamin travels around the country, she gets to meet all the winners and highlight how she is using the apps.
Please email me directly to let me know (1) where your office and / or principals are located; (2) the email and phone number for the key contact person in your business.
